Sebby’s Scrolls was born during lockdown and now calls Caulfield South home. Head to its takeaway window for a scroll in standout flavours like cinammon and cheesymite, with the occasional special thrown in. Plus, takeaway espresso drinks.
The classic cinnamon is the gateway scroll here. Expect super-soft layers of dough, cinnamon and caramelised brown sugar with a heaped layer of cream cheese icing. The cheesymite scrolls, on the other hand, started as a Sunday-only special and were such a hit that they are now a permanent fixture. Devotees generally get one of each – balancing the sweet with the savoury.
The bakery is run by owners and life partners Anabelle Strahan and Sebastian Castro, and pumps out upwards of 5000 scrolls a week. Along with selling directly to members of the public, they’ve been selling their delicious scrolls to coffee shops around Melbourne since 2021.
