Update Wednesday February 18, 2026: If you've been to Ruby's Wine Shop, then you've likely met Ruby, owner Tamara Husler's border collie. Ruby (the dog) turns seven this month and to celebrate Husler is opening some of "Ruby's favourite" wines and passing out dog treats on Saturday February 21.

Ruby’s Wine Shop is one of a growing list of wine store-bar hybrids across Brisbane where you can buy a bottle to take home or drink in.

It launched with around 100 bottles, all sourced from small producers committed to minimal intervention winemaking. A rotating selection of six to eight bottles will always be open for tasting.

While Ruby’s Wine Shop doesn’t have a food license, you can order from the Turkish restaurant next door or even bring your own food.

The space is warm and inviting. A long timber table, polished floorboards, shelves lined with bottles, and a rust-coloured feature wall gives it a relaxed, lived-in feel. But by far the best feature of the space is Ruby, owner Tamara Husler’s border collie, who freely roams the space.
