In a compact Subiaco shopfront, Pinos is Perth’s first dedicated empanada bakery – and the city’s better for it.

Inspired by a road trip through Chile, this husband-and-wife-run spot offers 12 varieties of hand-crimped empanadas, each stamped to match its filling. The menu spans traditional Chilean beef with olive and boiled egg, to more playful takes like peri-peri lamb and barbeque pork with provolone. There are sweet options too, including a golden apple pie empanada.

Everything is made to go, and is best paired with house-made chimichurri or Chilean pebre. Alfajores (a dulce de leche cookie cake), coffee and cold-pressed juice round out the offer.
